FEEDING HUNGRY PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY!

Our team at Kathy Barry Agency believes that no man, woman, or child in this world ever deserves to go to bed hungry. Sadly, hunger is widespread among all demographics in our very own Berks County and local Schuylkill County.

Some shocking statistics:

• 12% of the population of Berks County and Schuylkill County live in poverty and thus face hunger issues. Of those living in poverty, nearly 24,500 are children under 18.
• More than 38,000 school-aged children in Berks and Schuylkill Counties are eligible for the National School Lunch Program’s free and reduced lunches. This represents more than 52% of the population of school-aged children in Berks County and Schuylkill County!
• More than 110,000 people in Berks and Schuylkill Counties qualify for food assistance – defined as living within 185% of the poverty guideline.

This is why we’re supporting Helping Harvest with our new community cause cycle. Their mission is simple: Feed the Hungry!
